ArchaeoSciences Summer School,

The ArchaeoScience#RO Platform of the Research Institute of the University of Bucharest (ICUB) in collaboration with the Institute of the University of Bucharest,the Institute of Archeology “Vasile Pârvan” of the Romanian Academy, the National History Museum of Romania, the Municipality Museum of Bucharest, the Lower Danube Museum, and Gumelnita Civilisation Museum is pleased to announce the launch of the ArchaeoSciences Summer Schools. This is a new initiative dedicated to the students that have the goal to transmit meaningful information about the current interdisciplinary methods and approaches used to study the past. The first ArchaeoSciences Summer School entitled “Introduction in Bioarchaeology” will take place at Sultana, Calarasi County (Romania) from Monday 22 July to Friday 26 July 2019. The event aims to cover a wide range of topics relating to carpology, palynology, zooarchaeology, malacology, and archaeoichthyology. Our guest speakers are Dr. Diana Hanganu (ArchaeoScience#RO Platform, ICUB, Bucharest, Romania), Dr. Valentin Radu (National History Museum of Romania, Bucharest, Romania), Mihaela Golea, and Dr. Adrian Balasescu (‘Vasile Parvan’ Institute of Archaeology, Bucharest, Romania). This Summer School will be dedicated for the students from University of Bucharest (Romania), Paris 1 – Panthéon-Sorbonne University (France), and University South Florida (USA) presented at excavations from Sultana archaeological site.
